Global Trade Technology is part of the Trade and Treasury Services department within the Institutional Clients Group (ICG). The team works closely with Global Trade Product in multiple regions and is focused on providing Trade Services and Working Capital Solutions to Citi customers. The suite of applications provides Trade Documentary Services, Supply Chain Financing and Asset Distribution all integrated by a central integration layer. There is a major initiative in place to migrate all legacy applications to more newer micro services architecture utilizing a combination of private-public cloud.

This position provides a unique opportunity to work with the integration team, working closely with business stakeholders while building towards the strategic technology roadmap. We are looking for technically strong candidates who can work as team players and capable of taking ownership and independently lead initiatives when required.

The Java Microservices Developer is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role will be development and delivery of Java SpringBoot/microservices based services which will be part of the global ESB implementation supporting multiple banking and financial services applications.

He/She needs to ensure quality of deliverables, coordinate / conduct code as well as test case reviews and coordinate with various cross functional teams as and when required.

Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
• Works with project teams and unit level team members to ensure strong technical alignment with documented development standards, SDLC, and coding frameworks for all application development efforts.
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Utilize knowledge of system flow and follow standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• Provide knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Responsible for application analysis, tuning and measurement to ensure appropriate performance and reliability based on documented SLA's
• Developing Java Springboot services and applications
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Migrate the legacy code to the new tech stack
• Provides work leadership and Mentors/coaches lower level technical staff or less experienced programmers

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, SonarQube, BitBucket.
• Experience with Java ,SpringBoot , Microservices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are must.
• Experience building Distributed / Service Oriented / Microservice-style and cloud-based architectures (Amazon, ECS, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes) is a big plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Exposure in message driven architectures, including Kafka, TIBCO EMS, and MQ.
• Experience in Tibco Business Works is a plus
• Hands-on experience with databases like Oracle and Mongo
• Any experience with financial services domain and financial file formats (SWIFT/EDI/ISO XML/NACHA) preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix Shell.
• Experience in Core Java and J2EE technologies like JMS, JSP, Servlets, Spring, XML, XSD, XSLT, and XPATH is desired.
• Experience in software development SDLC (Agile)
• Self-motivated and goal oriented individual. Demonstrated record of initiative, adaptability and decision making.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (in science, computers, information technology or engineering).
• Candidate should be willing to work in flexible timing to collaborate with global CITI team.
