What does a day look like in my role?

Intermediate Software Developers at Leadpages are emerging contributors, working in all areas of our technology stack. Based on their experience, they may focus on an entire API or set of Python API microservices and their repositories, or on React/Javascript applications and underlying shared libraries. They may also contribute to codebases in other languages or stacks, establishing more breadth in their expertise.

They are expected to be able to take on a variety of tasks from smaller features/stories/bugs to working on teams assigned to larger self-contained epics/projects. They will also need to be strong communicators, collaborating with the product and design teams in order to ensure stakeholder needs are met. In order to keep growing, Intermediate Software Developers will spend time pair programming, taking part in continued learning and potentially even mentoring more junior engineers.

As an Intermediate Software Developer at Leadpages, you will have the opportunity to build, develop and test features for our SaaS applications used by thousands of users. Our engineers are experts in their craft and are always striving to improve and develop new skills. You will work both on a team of engineers for large projects, and solo for bugs and smaller tasks.

• Debugging and fixing production issues
• Ensuring your code is well tested, programmatically and manually
• Participating in daily/weekly meetings
• Test changes to our software to ensure a high level of quality
• Working closely with other developers
• Helping to estimate the effort of engineering tasks
• Assisting in code reviews for other developers
• Providing technical assistance to our customer success team
• Developing new features
• Promoting best practices for software development and security

After 1 week

• You will be onboarded with the engineering team and meet your fellow team members and get a sense of how you will fit within the company
• You will be introduced to our applications and repos
• You will jump in right away and participate in code reviews

After 1 month

• You will understand the product roadmap and how your role is a part of this roadmap
• You are pairing with team members to build your skills and knowledge base
• You are confident and have shipped your first code to Production

After 6 months

• You have attended support team "ride alongs"
• You are actively contributing code as part of a larger team towards a project
• You have a clear understanding of the full breadth of our application and tech stack

What We Would Like To See In You

• Experience working in an agile environment with code reviews
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Proven experience working with JS (and/or Typescript) and a framework such as React
• Ability to understand and articulate complex analytical ideas in a simple way to a variety of key stakeholders from different functions
• 2+ years of professional experience as a full-stack developer
• Bachelors or advanced degree in IT, computer science, engineering, business, design, human-computer interaction or related field or equivalent work experience
• Real-world experience with cloud platforms, containers and Kubernetes
• Proven experience building high-reliability Python applications and
