Intermediate Accountant Jobs

Robert Half is looking to hire an Intermediate Accountant for an influential organization. The Intermediate Accountant requires knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in handling foreign exchange transactions. This position is a permanent role and is located in the Cambridge, Ontario area.

What you get to do every day

• Gather, review, analyze, and report on various financial information, providing insights and recommendations.
• Assist with the preparation of forecasts and budgets, as well as analyzing variances between actual and projected figures.
• Record routine transactions through data entry and process adjusting journal entries as necessary.
• Assist with various audits, both internal and external, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely reimbursement.
• Conduct a monthly review of the balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
• Completing bank reconciliations, foreign currency transactions, and main accounting duties for both UK and US entities.
• Perform intermediate to complex reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, ensuring monthly completion with supporting schedules for five entities.
• Team Backup: Serve as a backup for other team members during busy periods and cover vacations to ensure smooth workflow continuation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and foreign exchange transactions.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• 1-3 years of work experience in an Accounting Department.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Undergraduate University Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
• Enrolled in the CPA Program considered an asset.
