Our innovative technologies are installed globally, treating industrial water for products you use every day, while also helping to propel the electric vehicle revolution by mining lithium from water.

We offer meaningful and exciting work in a collaborative environment, driven by innovation and problem-solving. We strongly value a positive attitude, hard work, smarts, and commitment to see things through.

The Role:

We are seeking an Industrial Quality Assurance Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO). This position has significant career growth opportunities and could transition to a Team Lead or Management position in the future. Our focus on Quality is driven from the top of the organization, so this position will have the full support of the VP of Engineering and the CEO.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Proactively communicating status, risks, and opportunities with Project Managers and the Director of Production to enable project planning.
  • Quality Assurance Program management, specifically focused on third-party welded/machined steel process elements, structures, and specialty process devices (pumps, heat exchangers, etc.).
  • Identifying new potential suppliers and completing cost-quality-delivery analysis to diversify our supply base.
  • Working with Engineering to develop and refine technical specifications for new equipment. This will involve securing feedback from vendors and refining specifications to ensure a balance between quality and economic feasibility.
  • Supporting internal Quality Assurance and Quality Management System practices and promoting our quality culture.
  • Supporting contract negotiation to ensure fairness in terms and pricing for all.
  • Performing quality control functions for industrial equipment, welded structures, etc. Proactively identifying deficiencies for early resolution.
  • Working with the team to establish mitigation plans when needed.

You will be a great fit if you have:
  • Process equipment welding codes and standards (ASME/CSA/AWS)
  • A desire to have a positive impact on the planet and society by implementing technological innovation.
  • Knowledge/Experience in ISO 90001 Standard or equivalent.
  • Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Reports (PQR)
  • Formal Six Sigma training is a bonus.
  • Interpretation of regulatory requirements, codes, standards, and client specifications
  • Basic contract understanding regarding Terms and Conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license for local vendor visits and the ability to travel abroad when needed.
  • 5-10+ years of work experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably for industrial equipment or welded structures. This must include:
  • Team-based positive attitude toward project delivery and issue resolution: both internal and external to Saltworks.
  • A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Meticulous in organization, inspections, and defect identification.
