Job Description

Indspire is an Indigenous national registered charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada. With the support of its funding partners, Indspire disburses financial awards, delivers programs, and shares resources with the goal of improving educational outcomes for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students. Through Indspire’s education offerings, we provide resources to students, educators, communities, and other stakeholders who are committed to improving success for Indigenous youth.

We are currently hiring a Human Resource Administrator who will report to and collaborate with, to support the Human Resources department. Reporting to the Human Resource Senior Advisor, you will act as the first point of contact for human resource related queries from employees and will collaborate with internal/external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains HR databases and record keeping systems, including employment information.
  • Supports the full-cycle recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with Managers to ensure job descriptions are current.
  • Coordinates the onboarding process.
  • Supports the coordination and implementation of organizational training activities.
  • Supports the work of the HR Sr. Advisor by assisting with policy development, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other related material.
  • Collaborates in developing and implementing HR related projects, activities, and events.
  • Supports the Job Evaluation process by coordinating evaluation sessions and follow-up.
  • Other related job duties as may be required from time to time.
  • Ensures that HR administrative policies and practices are aligned and consistently applied in all related activities.
  • Responds to general inquiries to the HR Policy Manual and other employment related matters.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel in particular) and database development.
  • University degree or Diploma in Human Resources or similar field, or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related position.
  • Attention to detail, with problem-solving skills for meeting tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced client service skills including providing respectful and helpful support in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of and experience in an Indigenous environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Intermediate to advanced communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates discretion and the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • The ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.

This is a full-time position based at Indspire’s Toronto or Six Nations office - we are currently working under a hybrid work model. The salary range is competitive with a comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.
