The Pickle Barrel is looking for a Host at our 6508 Yonge St, Toronto location.

The Pickle Barrel began with a mission. We believed that amazing dining experiences didn’t need to be elitist, so we began a restaurant that combined ‘quality’ with ‘incredible value’. Today we have restaurants all across the Greater Toronto Area, with a menu that offers over 200 items brought to you by over 1,000 employees- with no shortcuts. We are looking for individuals that are passionate about food, hospitality, and providing their Guests with a Perfect Dining Experience to join our Pickle Barrel family!

What you will do in this role

• Manage a waitlist, while interacting with Guests
• Answer the phone and respond to Guest inquiries in a pleasant manner
• Thank Guests for joining us and invite them to return
• Adhere to the Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety Program
• Abide by Food Safety regulations and best practices
• Accurately complete all set up and closing procedures
• Greet and welcome Guests when entering the restaurant
• Offer a friendly final farewell to Guests

Position Overview

We are looking for a Graphic & Motion Designer to join our brand team. Reporting to the VP Marketing, this person would lead design projects for Harvey’s!

Major Responsibilities

• Design and manage all assets for download and usage through the Local Restaurant Marketing Toolkit.
• Lead relationship with print and digital menu boards vendors ensuring jobs are delivered on time and that they have all of the information they need to successfully execute the full job.
• Present final designs to brand leaders and senior leadership with confidence and clarity
• Work with the brand team from conception to completion. This includes following a briefing process, gathering assets, ideating new ideas and delivering approved creative on time.
• Design all printed assets (printed menu panels, in-store point of sales, posters, banner, flyers, training materials etc..), digital menu boards, and digital assets for social channels, email, display and video/animation as requested by our brand, for multiple platforms and browsers.
• Other duties as assigned by the brand team.
• Be the design thought leader for the brand; and ensure that all materials, guest and associate facing, accurately represent the brand’s guidelines, book, feel and tone.
• Lead and refine brand guidelines as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Experience creating rich media assets including videos, GIFs, cinemagraphs, stop-motions
• A team player with strong communication skills
• 5+ years’ of full-time graphic and motion design experience working in an agency or corporate role
• Intermediate typography and illustration skills\
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and can handle a fast-paced work environment with deadlines, new challenges, and changing priorities with minimal supervision
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and bonus points for Aftereffects
• Impeccable visual design, relentless attention to detail, and possess strong organizational and time-management skills and very process-driven
• Knowledge of web design process and best practices, including image optimization, responsive design, basic HTML and CSS
• Knowledgeable of all social platforms, sizes and aspect ratios for web
