Job Description

Gripco Tire Sales is a fast growing company with lots of potential to advance with in. We are currently looking for a Heavy duty Mechanic.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repairs may include: cooling systems, air systems, brakes, tires, electrical systems and lubrication systems.


Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid class 3 driver’s license
  • Trouble shooting skills a must
  • Ability to perform heavy component installations


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
  • Required to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completing all necessary paperwork
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
  • Test operation of completed unit
  • All communication with customer
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Basic computer and internet literacy
  • Use computer diagnostic equipment
  • Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals
  • Install and test hydraulic systems
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
