Job Description
GFL Environmental is looking for Mechanics (Licensed or Apprentice) to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB!

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess, provide and maintain tools necessary to perform tasks related to maintenance on heavy/hydraulic equipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
  • Working knowledge with multiple equipment not limited to CAT, Hitachi, Forklifts, Skid Steers etc.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Experience with engine drive, train structure, welding, hydraulics & electrical malfunctions.
  • Utilize a variety of power and hand tools and equipment.
  • Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
  • Experience with diagnostics for large equipment.
  • Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated equipment and vehicles.
  • Is reliable, responsible for your work & have the right attitude to perform assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • Must be computer literate, can be trained on software systems and have the willingness to learn.
  • Basic tool set required
  • Experience in mining and/or construction equipment repair & maintenance preferred
  • Minimum 5 yrs mechanical experience with forklifts, skids steer, large equipment and/or a yellow iron mechanic an asset
  • Good to have inspection license / CDL preferred, cutting torch ticket, fall arrest
  • Experience using diagnostic software
