Job Description
Maintaining our new Rail Rider Mountain Coaster as well as a fleet of trucks, side by sides and heavy equipment. This position is located in Golden, BC

As a Heavy-duty Mechanic at the Golden Skybridge, you will contribute in making the Golden Skybridge as safe as possible for our guests and staff. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, our #1 Core value of Safety 1st starts with you in ensuring the mechanical fitness of our mountain coaster, trucks, side by sides and heavy equipment.


This is a multi-faceted position and can include any, or all, of the following


  • Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnostics on engines/transmissions
  • Safety 1st! Ensure to follow adequate and proper safety procedures when performing any duties.
  • Act as a coach and subject matter expert when it comes to everything vehicles
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Assist in training apprentice mechanics in the trade.
  • Standard First-Aid or higher an asset
  • Ability to think outside the box with a positive attitude, and problem-solving skills
  • Service attachments and working tools.
  • Maintain daily record of all works orders, part orders and other administrative tasks.
  • Must adhere to the Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy
  • Class 1, 2 or 3 driver’s license with airbrake (Q) endorsement an asset
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • To honour our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record check
  • Ability to supply own tools up to ¾” and impact drives
  • Valid BC (or inter-provincial) Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman certification
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area and assist with cleaning duties in working environment.
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease downtime and improve processes.
  • Must meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards
  • Diagnose equipment problems and determine repairs as needed.
  • Must enjoy working outdoors, even in challenging mountain weather conditions
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods in an outdoor environment. Be prepared for all types of weather (Snow, Rain, Wind, Hail) at all times. The weather changes quickly at the Golden Skybridge
  • Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Support colleagues and co-workers in their duties.


Typically 8 hours a day 3-4 days a week. Depending on the time of year and business levels.


  • Independent. You’ll spend your days in and around national parks.
  • Busy. You need to be prepared for a physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance) required
  • Remote. Our home is filled with trees, lakes and blue-bird skies; rather than buildings, freeways and smog. Connect with friends around a bonfire instead of through WiFi
  • Beautiful. You’ll work in iconic, unforgettable and inspiring locations. You’ll see amazing scenery and wildlife. You’ll participate in team events – and fun!
