Robert Half is currently working with a manufacturing client in Vancouver for a Group Financial Controller.
Define and implement cadence of financial reporting and planning for the Canadian and North American entities.
• Create and improve the accounting processes by streamline the month-end process, and work cross-functionally with supply-chain, operations and IT team on optimising weekly and monthly functional reports.
• Perform activities of monthly financial reporting including group financial consolidation and presentation of financial results by illustrating business performance and goals to the board of directors and senior management team.
• Conduct timely reviews of month end results, perform variance analysis, explain & present such variances in structured manner and capitalize on potential cost savings.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting for multiple cycles (Annual Operating Plan, all quarterly forecast cycles, long term strategy 5 years plan), variance analysis, cash flow overview & reporting dashboards.
• Cash Management: Perform periodic budgeting to project monthly cash requirements, presentation of cash forecast reports to senior management team, FOREX requirement, and vendors payment management.
• Escalate all major risks or opportunities to management team in a proactive manner.
• Tax planning, compliance and advisory
• Forge strong working relationships internally and externally of the Finance function
In collaboration with the CFO oversee the annual budgeting process, including review and approval of department budgets and preparation of reports and analysis for Executive and Board Committees.
• In-conjunction with the CFO will take responsibility for developing and delivering the organization's financial management and/or control systems. Identify internal control weaknesses and design and implement a framework to mitigate the identified weaknesses.
• Accountable for continuously leading the optimization and improvements for key processes in finance.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field with 15 years experience in a controller role in a large manufacturing company with strong experience presenting to the senior management.
- CPA Holder.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
