Who We Are Looking For

This is a hands-on software engineer position in State Street Global Technology Services seeking a leading technical contributor to the build out of Cloud-based Performance and Analytics Engine as part of Alpha Core Data Services platform. The candidate is someone with proven record of technology project execution with ability to get hands on when it comes to analysis design and execution, someone with creativity and self-motivation to delivery on mission critical projects.

What You Will Be Responsible For

As Software Engineer you will

• Design and code applications for cloud, leveraging Cloud native architecture principles and technologies
• Ability to drive change through collaboration and influence
• Participate in analysis, solutions design and deliver of Cloud-based services as part for Alpha Core Platform.
• Develop applications leveraging various technologies – Java, Python, RDBMS, Kafka, snowflake and Spark
• Drive technical excellence by working independently to analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions as part of Next Gen Performance Calc Engine
• Clearly communicate complex operational or technical subjects to internal or external clients, both in formal and informal settings.

What We Value

• Experience with designing & delivering services, systems & data platforms
• Proven Experience with Cloud and Big data platforms , building data processing application utilizing spark, Airflow,, Object storage etc.
• 5+ years’ experience in IT developing data processing and performance solutions
• Subject Matter Expertise in J2EE concepts, micro service architecture, Docker, ETL tools, Data as a Service, ACID and data structures is desired
• Experience in financial industry working on financial reporting/regulatory projects is a plus.
• Experience in event driven architectures, message hub, MQ, Kafka is required.
• Experience in evaluating software estimating cost and delivery timelines and managing financials
• Experience with designing & delivering BigData platforms is a plus.
• Work closely with the business & IT stake holders to manage delivery
• Experience leading agile delivery & adhering to SDLC processes is required
• Able to use cloud technologies – Azure/AWS – VM, Storage, Logic apps, Event grid, Snowflake etc. Preferred Certifications on AWS or Azure

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field
