Job Description

At Edelman, the Global Project Management Group Leader will focus on professionalizing and growing adoption for the Integrated Project Management function among the agency’s large clients to support business growth, offering diversification and financial stewardship.


This group leader will be responsible for positioning and championing the function and for encouraging agency integration. They will need to be an effective collaborator and be able to bring specialty, client and business leaders with them in order to design, manage and implement strategies that will simplify processes and enhance and improve how teams staff, work and operate across the globe.


The ideal candidate will employ a creative and data-driven approach to Project Management Leadership that pulls on a broad spectrum of best practices, using various methodologies. The successful candidate will be able to build trust, credibility, and will have a proven track record of demonstrated impact for the business, its work and its client relationships. This person should understand broader agency operations and workflow and contribute to broader conversations about pricing, team and delivery models, capacity planning and benchmarking for specialty engagement.

Basic Qualifications:


  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 17+ years of relevant experience leading or establishing a Project Management function in a fast pace and high impact culture, agency experience strongly preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ability to provide leadership for a large distributed PM team. That means being a point of escalation on lines of business that need reorganization.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerBi, PowerPoint) and Smartsheet (or other similar project management tool) is required.
  • A change agent with the ability to lead organizational change management activities, drive sustained change, and adapt to new situations.
  • Strong collaboration skills to effectively build alignment with Executive Leadership and teams to support business KPI's and deliver on specific PM KPIs around business impact, footprint and client penetration.
  • 10+ years positioning and growing Project Management teams with 2+ years leading department in an organization larger than 5,000 employees, overseeing global team of 100+
  • Ability to consult with finance, specialty and client leaders regarding project management data/analytics and insights that can influence and direct change management, process improvement and decision-making strategies.
  • Proven mastery of large, complex project delivery on integrated programs, from new business positioning, client and project planning, execution and lessons learnt.
  • Demonstrated ability motivating and building high-performing teams, assessing gaps, and building leadership and organization capabilities including the management of an effective leadership team.
  • A champion of PM talent. Making sure that each team members successes are visible, that the group on the whole is recognized fairly and held accountable to PM positioning and KPIs.
  • Experience driving education programs to evolve PM knowledge and agency adoption of effective implementation of PM.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills and seasoned presentation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of all core disciplines (ways of working and products) required to deliver integrated marketing work (Research, strategy, creative, production, digital social, earned, digital, client service).

$275,000 - $350,000 a year


An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
