Freelance Designer Jobs

Actual Media Agency is growing and seeking a talented Freelance Designer to support our team and contribute to our many Business to Business (B2B) client projects. As one of our freelance designers, you will specialize in serving clients within the Water, Environment, and Infrastructure industries. Your role will involve taking a design brief and creating visually captivating designs for both digital and print media. Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the Agency Director and Coordinators to understand project requirements, objectives, and deliverables. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas and concepts.

Design Creation: Develop engaging and professional designs for various B2B projects within the Water, Environment, and Infrastructure industries. This includes creating digital and print collateral, such as brochures, newsletters, reports, infographics, advertisements, social media graphics, and website assets.

InDesign Expertise: Utilize Adobe InDesign to produce high-quality designs that adhere to brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and visual impact across all materials. Proficiently handle file management, layout design, typography, and image manipulation within the software.

Visual Storytelling: Translate complex information into visually appealing and easily understandable designs. Apply creative design techniques to convey key messages effectively and engage the target audience.

Deadline Management: Work efficiently to meet project deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proactively communicate with the team to provide progress updates and seek feedback.

Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on all design deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client specifications and brand guidelines.

Requirements:

Proven Experience: A portfolio demonstrating your expertise in designing for B2B clients. Showcase a range of digital and print design projects. Demonstrated ability to develop visually compelling designs that effectively communicate complex information and align with client objectives and brand guidelines.

InDesign Proficiency: Strong command of Adobe InDesign software, including proficiency in layout design, typography, color theory, and image editing. Experience with other design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus.

Creative Vision:Time Management Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members. An ability to ask questions to ensure understanding and clarity is required.

Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving client needs and multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to embrace feedback and make necessary revisions.

Degree or Certification: A degree or certification in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrated design skills and relevant experience are equally valued.

Ability to communicate and track projects with Google Drive, Slack, and Asana tools is a major plus. We tend not to use email if we can help it.

Located in the GTA preferred, as we meet quarterly in person and occasionally as required.
