Job Description

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for establishing a passionate and creative F&B culture at Watermark Beach Resort, setting strategic direction and managing the daily operations of all outlets and banquet operations. This position is ultimately responsible for the quality of service provided throughout the resort.In this role, you generously share what you know and transfer issues into constructive opportunities. Your talents and experience will be cross-utilized in different outlets throughout the Food & Beverage Department including banquets, 15 Park Bistro and the pool bar.

The Food and Beverage Manager responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all menus are accurately costed, engineered and designed according to the strategic F&B vision of the resort
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Demonstrate professional and positive image to guests and colleagues at all times, including maintaining a high standard of professional appearance and hygiene at all times for yourself and all food and beverage colleagues.
  • Take a lead role in ensuing the concept of the outlets is brought to life
  • Effectively maintain inventory of venue operating supplies
  • Be aware of what happened in the prior shift and clearly convey happenings for the next.
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manage within those approved plans.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and the culinary team to maximize the guest experience
  • Develop procedures that enhance the Food and Beverage operation as a whole
  • Develop and implement creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment
  • Wine, Beer and Spirits knowledge in an upscale service environment is essential
  • Plan, coordinate & manage special events and holiday functions as well as training junior leaders in how to successfully carry them out
  • Ensures effective team hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous improvement through coaching and development of learning systems.
  • Resolve guest complaints and maintain a high level of Food and Beverage experience and service
  • Ensure receipt and accurate flow of communications between shifts and teams
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, and professional appearance
  • Supports and oversees all Food and Beverage outlets at the resort, while working closely with other departments to ensure we deliver an elevated guest and owner experience.
  • Full understanding of colleague engagement and implements procedures to increase colleague’s satisfaction
  • Responsible for correct billing and implementation of accounting procedures in all areas.

Qualifications

This is a full time senior management position that requires flexibility, and the ability to work any shift time, weekends and holidays when required.

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates should possess strong food and beverage knowledge. Beverage knowledge should include wine, spirits and beer as well as non alcoholic beverages
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of point of sale systems
  • Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of both restaurant and banquet service
  • Previous experience as a Food and Beverage Manager, Banquet Manager or Restaurant Manager is required
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, self starter, motivational leader, effective communicator, and effective in providing exceptional customer service.
