The First Cook will provide excellent guest experiences through the consistent preparation and focused execution of food items. Successful candidate will operate in a manner that provides a safe and enjoyable experience for the guest, co-workers and self.


  • Ensures that work environment is safe and free of hazards (hazard ID/reporting)
  • Always provides guests & co-workers with exceptional hospitality
  • Ensure line is prepped and ready for service based on PAR levels
  • Plates in accordance to Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef’s standards
  • Cleaning and maintenance schedules diligently adhered to
  • Independent. You’ll spend your days in and around national parks.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Preparation of food items are consistent with recipes and health codes
  • Will perform all other reasonable duties as directed by leadership

  • Journeyman apprentice is an asset

The Chef de Partie Pastries will provide excellent guest experiences through the consistent preparation and focused execution of food items. Successful candidate will operate in a manner that provides a safe and enjoyable experience for the guest, co-workers and self.


  • Supervise / coordinate the preparation and all pastries at the Banff Gondola
  • Oversee special catering events
  • Experienced and proficient in the latest sanitation and HACCP standards
  • Being an effective administrator through inventory programs
  • Remote. Our home is filled with trees, lakes and blue-bird skies; rather than buildings, freeways and smog. Connect with friends around a bonfire instead of through WiFi 
  • Complies with Pursuit Branded policies and procedures
  • Experience in menu writing, development and costing
  • Ability to create and execute fine dining pastry dishes
  • Computer literacy is essential

  • Maintain/audit presentation technique and quality standards
  • Journeyman’s Red Seal preferred, or equivalent
  • Order to forecasted volumes and specify budgets
  • Busy. You need to be prepared for a physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance) required

  • 1-3 years’ management experience in a high-volume food service and restaurant operation
  • Ability to control operating costs – labour and food
  • Provide culinary instruction and demonstration of culinary techniques
  • Strong background in high volume and production
  • Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are being adhered to as per AHS guidelines
  • Standard first-aid or higher is an asset
  • Flexible to work in various locations
  • Inspirationally lead and train kitchen personal
  • Comfortable guest facing and tableside interactions
  • Works within inventory control systems including daily updates to ensure accuracy
  • Adhere to the Pursuit grooming policy
