Financial Analyst Jobs

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Financial Analyst (CPA Path) role is dynamic with exposure to both financial reporting and financial planning and analysis. The role offers development opportunities for candidates working towards their CPA designation.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

• Assist the Controller in ensuring that control procedures are followed and documented
• Support the maintenance of the global chart of accounts
• Assist treasury team with analysis over accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Primary responsibility over subsidiary month end close cycle, including financial close adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L variance reviews
• Support the monthly reporting of results, including internal financial statements and Board reporting packages
• Prepare month end adjusting entries including accruals, amortization, and other routine entries
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities

Financial planning and analysis

• Assist with integration of new acquisitions or business ventures into the global platform
• Maintain financial dashboards – including sales trends, margins, and KPI tracking
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, performing analysis on variances to budget

Tax and statutory compliance

• Assist with Canadian VAT filings (HST/PST/QST) and US sales tax returns prepared by third party firms
• Assist with compliance with global statutory requirements, including corporate tax filings and local statutory audits
• Assist with new product sales taxability reviews and transfer pricing studies

Qualifications:

• Must be currently pursuing a professional designation (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• High attention to detail, accuracy and data integrity
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
• Strong verbal and oral communication skills and the ability to tailor communication appropriately to different stakeholder audiences (i.e. business stakeholders vs. finance stakeholders)
• Curious, creative, analytical, and thoughtful – advanced financial analysis skills and an extensive and in-depth understanding of Excel are required to be successful at this role
• Strong internal control knowledge for both systems and processes
