Financial Analyst - Contract - 16259

About The Opportunity

Our client, who is a large organization in the Ottawa area, is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team for a 6-month contract with a possibility of extension.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform detailed analyses of source data systems and collaborate with other departments to develop efficient processes to transform clinical data for use in Case Costing and Statistical Reporting
• Respond to data requests from clinical and non-clinical leaders for use in decision-making. This involves understanding end user requirements, identifying data solutions using multiple sources of data, and presenting the data in a meaningful way to end users
• Support the tasks of processing financial and activity data to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely information to the General Ledger and Case Costing System
• Review and investigate data variances or unexpected results, including issue resolution and reconciliation
• Participate in the monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation, forecasting, and government reporting
• Prepare, edit, and maintain workflows, processes, procedures and documentation
• Assess, develop and implement strategies to enhance data quality and ensure data meets government and the organizations standards
• Support various projects and working groups, implementation of new extracts/systems

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Advanced Excel and experience with large sets of data and how to manipulate, etc.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role dealing with large sets of data
• Experience in performing data analyses and summarizing results in a large, complex environment
