Data Scientist Intern

The candidate must fulfill all the following criterias:

·Be able to legally work in Canada

·Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or Canadian Refugee

·

Responsibilities:

·Conduct research and statistical analyses on large data sets

·Develop core algorithms and models leading to trading decisions

·Conceptualize valuation strategies, develop and continuously improve upon mathematical models, and help translate algorithms into code

·Communicate with Client and Data providers

Qualifications:

·Msc. Or Ph.D. in Finance, Economic, Statistics, Computer Science or Mathematics.

·Demonstrated ability to complete high level investment-related research

·Prior experience in a quantitative role is a plus, but is not required.

·Strong experience and skills working with and analyzing large amounts of data

·High level of proficiency in Python

The candidate will have to be comfortable with concept of Hedging, Monte Carlo simulation, Backtesting and Portfolio Allocation.

Quantolio is a small firm and key personality trait are curiosity, independence and creativity. We often have to create custom solutions for clients and prospective clients that requires to think outside of the box with short notice.

The internship has a duration of 4 months with the possibility to roll the period for an additional 6 months and a 40hrs/wk is usually expected. The salary offered will be based on the candidate's experience.
