Job Type: Permanent part-time
Salary Range: $ 45,000- 52,000 annual salary plus Benefits

Applications are invited for the position of Executive Director of Casa El Norte, a not-for-profit,
charitable organization located in Fort Erie. Casa El Norte’s mission is to provide temporary
emergency shelter for refugees or any other indigent individual and assist refugees with
counselling, orientation, and integration services. This position will commence September 11,
2023 providing the successful candidate with a one-month orientation and training period.
Working with and reporting to a community-based Board of Directors, the successful candidate
will provide overall leadership and management for the organization. The successful candidate
should aspire to build upon the organization’s legacy of helping up-rooted people overcome the
challenges of rebuilding their lives in Canadian society through an integrated model of
emergency shelter, orientation and counselling support, refugee protection and resettlement
services. The Executive Director is responsible for the development and implementation of
effective policies, procedures, programs, and strategic directions, and stewards the
organization’s financial and human resources to promote the achievement of Casa El Norte’s
mission and organizational objectives. Using a collaborative approach, the Executive Director
creates an environment which encourages a client-centred approach. The Executive Director is
the public face of the organization, embodying and articulating its values to residents, staff,
volunteers, external stakeholders, and the community.
Required Qualifications:
Post secondary education or relevant experience.
Commitment to the mission of the organization.
Prior experience and knowledge of a range of managerial responsibilities, including
financial management, human resources, program development and evaluation,
strategic planning, legislative compliance.
Past record of forging strong working relationships with staff, volunteers, community
partners and stakeholders.
Preferred candidates may also possess:
Experience working with volunteer governance boards.
Experience in fund development for programs, services, operating budgets, and capital
needs with a goal of securing long-range, diversified, and sustainable sources of funding.
Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
A second language

determine the Canadian educational equivalence.
