Job Description

Northlands College is seeking an Engagement and Campus Services Coordinator. The position is located in La Ronge, Saskatchewan and the position works on-site.


Position Summary

The Engagement and Campus Services Coordinator in an in-scope position reporting to the Director or designate. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the daily operation of engagement within the campus catchment area and Campus Services that help create a positive and successful learning environment for all members of the learning community.


Duties and Responsibilities

The Engagement and Campus Services Coordinator has a diverse range of duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

Ø Collaborate with Learner Advisors to engage and recruit learners within the catchment area. Identify and address the needs of the learning community through strategic initiatives.

Ø Ensure the learner community experiences a positive and successful environment, fostering a conducive atmosphere for growth and development.

Ø Supervisor learners peer mentors.

Ø Supervise Campus Services Staff and maintain effective communication with external agencies and communities.

Ø Prepare proposals and reports as required, manage inventory, and oversee recruitment, professional development, and evaluation of staff.

Ø Provide leadership and direction to regional staff, promoting teamwork and efficient delivery of college programs and services.

Ø Responsible for the management and maintenance of learner housing including the operation of learner residence facilities.

Ø Develop, administer, and monitor the budget for the coordinator's area of responsibility.

Ø Undertake additional responsibilities to enhance the positive experience of prospective, current, and former learners in college programs and services. respond to any student/client complaints or feedback.

Ø Participate in the development or modification of campus policies and committees.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The following attributes should be brought to the position.

Ø The Engagement and Campus Services Coordinator requires knowledge of the nature and the functioning of post-secondary institutions. Experience with operations management in a service setting is also required.

Ø Demonstrated organization and time management skills.

Ø Excellent communication, conflict management, supervisory and leadership skills, and interpersonal skills are required.

Ø Ability to always maintain confidentiality.

Ø proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions while maintaining good judgement in keeping manager, coworkers, partners, and learners apprised of important developments.

Ø intermediate computer skills in word processing (basic formatting skills required; advanced formatting desirable) and spreadsheet software (entering data in complex spreadsheet required; designing spreadsheets desirable)

Ø Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of community partners and stakeholders.

Ø Knowledge of excellent supervision practices, office procedures and business communications.

Education and Experience

In addition to the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed previously, the Learner and Campus Services Coordinator has:

Ø A bachelor’s degree with a major in the business administration or, social sciences (Minimum).

Ø Two (2) years of related experience in program/project coordination.

Ø A combination of education and experience maybe considered.

Additional Requirements

Ø Must be prepared to schedule hours of work according to the demands of the position as set by the manager, including evenings and weekends when necessary (i.e. field hours)

Ø Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel including overnight stays, air travel, and travel on gravel roads in all weather conditions.

A current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check is requirement of the position

The wage range is $36.27 - $43.23 per hour. Salary is dependent on years of experience and level of education.
