Reporting to the Provincial Disaster Coordination Team (PDCT) Lead or Head of Operations, the incumbent will enable decision-making across the team by consolidating, analyzing and disseminating key information on the actual or predicted evolution of the event and potential further impacts to CRC operations and the populations we serve. They will act a subject matter expert in planning, engaging in scenario-based planning and working across the PDCT functions to ensure readiness to respond as the event evolves.


In This Role, You Will


  • Acquire and maintain a full situational awareness of the situation in the geographic area with respect to actual and potential internal dangers, hazards and risks, that have or may have an impact on CRC operations and populations in the area.
  • Consolidate results and findings from assessments and analyses into recommendations to improve operational readiness. Presents these results, findings and recommendations to the decision-makers within the PDCT or CRC management.
  • As directed by the PDCT Lead, coordinate the completion of the following items, required for a response, engaging relevant PDCT functions: Response Strategy, Service Delivery Plan, Contingency Plan, Decision Papers, Directives.
  • Conduct concise and timely briefings with the PDCT on current operations and developments.
  • Conduct ongoing hazards risk assessments by analyzing public information and assessing to what extent data or observations may result in a request for assistance or impact to CRC operations.
  • Participate in workforce planning and capacity building within the PDCT Planning function, involving the Volunteer Resource team and the Field Operations Team (FOT).
  • Support the operational decision-making process by developing plans and engaging internal and external stakeholders as required. (The planning kit is under development; to be updated)
  • Work with PDCT functions to ensure that they are properly prepared to fulfill their respective support roles within operations.
  • Work with Information Management to collect, analyze and present critical information internally and externally as required by operational needs.
  • Coordinate operational planning with the PDCT Lead, function leads and relevant staff, including planning meetings as part of the operational cycle.
  • Liaise with the Planning team for Emergency Coordination Centres activated by local authorities, First Nations, federal/provincial/territorial governments and/or civil society partners for coordinated planning.
  • During a response, monitor situations outside the current response that could disrupt the response itself or simultaneous operations.

  • Fluency in French and English is required.
