Our Thunder Bay location in Ontario, Canada is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Electrical Projects Engineer - Thunder Bay Pulp and Paper Mill. This job is permanent, full-time.


Electrical Projects Engineer – Thunder Bay Mill Operations


We are seeking a talented individual to join our Thunder Bay Operations team. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, Thunder Bay is a four-season outdoor paradise and is the region’s commercial, administrative, medical and transportation hub, providing the amenities of an urban center while opening the gateway to outdoor adventure in North-western Ontario.


Your Challenges


The Electrical Projects Engineer will assist internal departments and work with external contractors evaluating designs and work to complete projects within schedule and budget while adhering to strict safety protocols.


Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include The Following


  • You will work closely with operating department and external consultants and vendors to coordinate projects.
  • You will assist in the design, planning and implementation of projects throughout the site including the initial consultation through final installation.
  • Provide technical support during the construction process.


Your Team


Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be part of a results-oriented team whose members are encouraged to exceed expectations.


Your Profile


  • The ideal candidate would possess an excellent working knowledge of the paper making process.
  • Electrical engineering degree required, coupled with at least 3 years of project experience within an industrialized manufacturing setting.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work in Canada at the time of applying for this position.


Your Skills And Assets


  • Demonstrated ability to balance priorities that meet short and long-term objectives; uses organized and efficient work methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required, including an ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced and structured environment.
  • Good communication skills with excellent strategic thinking skills.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the drive and passion to continuously improve upon the health and safety, efficiency, production, planning and manufacturing cost and maintenance cost targets for the site.
  • Proficient analytical skills required as well as a strong background in MS Office, MS Project.
