Disability Support Worker Jobs

We are currently looking for someone to join our team full time evening shift work 4 on and 4 off from 3pm-11pm with the option to pick up some sleepovers. We are a small, private home located in Grande Prairie. We have two adult individuals with disabilities in the home that require daily in home and community supports and companionship.

We are looking for someone who is non judgmental and has a positive outlook on life. Someone who is comfortable with cooking, technology and public transportation. The right candidate would have the ability to be proactive, problem solve, work unsupervised (once trained of course).

We do not require you to have previous experience, we will provide training. Our starting wage is $22/hr and for sleepovers it is $16.35/hr. Responsibilities

Some of the in home supports will include personal care, assisting with household chores, administering medication, cooking and providing companionship to the individuals. Community supports would be: running errands, attending appointments and attending various events around the city.

Qualifications

We do require Standard First Aid, a clean criminal record check with the vulnerable persons sector and a valid drivers license. You will have one month to provide your first aid and criminal record check. Excellent communication skills are a must as communication is an issue in our household.
