Director, Product Management Jobs

Ivans, a division of Applied Systems, is currently searching for a Director of Product Management, Distribution to lead our Ivans Distribution Platform and bring new distribution solutions from concept to market. The Ivans Distribution Platform team at Ivans leads a distribution ecosystem that enables P&C insurance carriers, technology partners, and independent agencies to digitally market, quote and bind more of the right commercial business. Insurance carriers, technology partners, and agencies connect through Ivans’ API-driven platform to ensure seamless connectivity and expand distribution channels. The individual in this role will lead a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts to uncover the voice of the customer and build the strategy and technology roadmap while evangelizing the value of the platform internally and throughout the industry.

What You’ll Do

• Work closely with UX and Development teams to ensure customer needs are clearly communicated and designed into future solutions.
• Act as the business owner for the Ivans Distribution Platform; help define and execute its’ strategy for continued expansion and growth.
• Motivate and lead a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts to help prioritize and build customer-driven requirements with a focus on speed-to-market.
• Work closely with Implementation and Customer Success teams to ensure new API-driven solutions are launched successfully for our partners and customers.
• Plan & track product performance to address emerging customer requirements and scale customer adoption.
• Build enthusiasm among key stakeholders and guide new products through the early stages of the lifecycle, including legal/regulatory reviews and implementation assets and training.
• Incorporate new requirements and enhancements into the product technical roadmap and champion these initiatives through the intake, prioritization, and development stages.
• Support adjacent products, and drive development of new products and features.
• Interface with external customers, including partners, to capture the voice of the customer and ensure challenges and opportunities are fully understood and captured.
• Work closely with other internal product teams to integrate and build new solutions that add value to shared customers/users.
• Help develop and refine new product value propositions that resonate with our customers, balance contrasting interests among customer sets, and function across target markets.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

• Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
• Ability to travel (15%-20%)

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication (spoken and written), and influencing skills, with a proven ability to navigate a complex, cross-functional environment; ability to communicate at all business levels.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills to support management and prioritization of product go-to-market.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, both strategically and tactically
• Proven ability to make smart features (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs.
• 2+ years of people management skills
• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Operations, or related field

Additionally, you may have:

• Experience understanding the requirements for both front-end and back-end software solutions.
• Experience integrating multiple products into one platform.
• Experience managing product ecosystems.
• Experience managing API-driven products.
• Experience with Amplitude, Confluence, or Jira helpful
• Insurance industry experience
• Knowledge in the use of Project Management methodologies (Agile Scrum, etc.)
