Position Summary
The Director, Product Management – Interoperability is responsible for the vision, execution, delivery, and overall success of PointClickCare's shared Interoperability Strategy in support of our overall Product portfolio.
This includes being responsible for the overall vision, definition, and delivery of both externally facing and internally-focused Interoperability strategies – including all Products, shared infrastructure & services, and supported strategies that support all lines of PointClickCare business and product portfolio – including those being sold to Providers, Health Plans, Risk Bearing Entities, and other related network members.
The Director will report directly to the VP, Product Management – Platform & Interoperability. They will lead a team and closely collaborate across the organization, overseeing strategy solutions with the goal of increasing the profitability of existing products, the overall viability and scalability of our growing portfolio, and introducing and developing new products to increase market share and deliver additional profit potential.
The Director will be critical in driving PointClickCare’s overall Data Sharing and Interoperability approach and represent our company both internally and externally as an advocate and thought leader, partnering across business lines and working closely with Product and Engineering leadership across the portfolio of offerings.
The Director, Product Management will interact with various people across the organization to drive the success of their products and strategies and be a key member of our Product Management organization. This includes, but is not limited to, Executive Leadership, Market Development, Engineering, Government and Regulatory Affairs, Partnerships, Marketing and Sales. The Director will also be expected to coach, manage, and grow a small team of Product Managers, Technical Managers, and Subject Matter Experts where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with Marketing to create customer-facing documentation and presentations, ensuring sales teams have the messaging, tools and support to sell and compete effectively
  • Leading "build versus buy versus partner" analyses for new offerings or markets for their product line
  • Driving and coordinating complex product priorities in a fast-paced environment with intra-team and inter-team dependencies
  • Managing Product Managers, Program Managers, and/or Product Specialists within their product line including hiring, mentoring, motivating and managing the performance of their team members
  • Represent PointClickCare in key areas around Interop thought-leadership, positioning, and strategy building internally and externally.
  • Partnering with the Market Product Leadership, Market and Segment Leaders, Product Leadership and other GTM Leadership functions to create the roadmap, set priorities and drive the vision across assigned portfolio areas.
  • Developing and implementing a company-wide commercialization and launch plan for the products within their product line, working with all departments to execute
  • Actively engage with customers, prospects, and other stakeholders outside of the company,
  • Successfully plan and lead new product launches from inception to post-launch activities
  • Externally Facing Products and Solution include, but not limited to, National Network Solution, direct-to-market network solutions, and other exchange type solutions and strategies.
  • Working with Marketing to define go-to-market strategy, partnering with them on product positioning and pricing strategies and execution
  • Successfully lead the Interoperability Product team and associated product line from strategic planning to tactical activities – for both externally facing and internally-focused interoperability solutions.
  • Define the key value proposition and positioning for products within the product line and supporting services
  • Internally-focused solutions include areas where close alignment and partnership with Market and Product Managers to use interoperability solutions to drive the commercial success or viability of existing products – examples include partnership APIs, Direct Connections, and more.
  • Understanding, prioritizing and communicating product priorities in terms of business value to customers as well as internally to PointClickCare
  • Working with Engineering and Business Analysts to define product release requirements and ensure the successful release of enhancements and new products
Required Experience
  • Experience managing and mentoring a product team
  • 2-5+ years of Software Product Management and/or Healthcare Data experience with relative experience in Interoperability.
  • History of success in growing new and existing product lines
  • Experience in Advanced Data technologies.
  • Prior experience in managing several enterprise software products through the entire lifecycle - from initial requirements gathering through product release and rollout
  • Strong preference for experience with healthcare Data and Interoperability solutions: Including working with Health Plans, EHRs, National Frameworks, and Long-Term Post-Acute providers amongst others.
  • Solid understanding of Agile practices
  • Proven track record of managing products, innovation, and a general curiosity and drive for building great products.
  • Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Business or related degree
  • Comes to work every day with a “Can-Do” attitude, passion for our customers/industry, and a genuine drive
  • SaaS or cloud software experience
