What You’ll Be Doing


Simplii Financial is CIBC’s direct banking brand and is available to clients through online, mobile, and telephone banking channels. Simplii is distinct from our CIBC brand, meeting a need in the market for an alternative, no-fee banking offer with great rates..


Reporting to the Senior Director, Process Engineering, you will be responsible for leading assigned projects, and ensuring, through oversight of end user testing, that all new / changed systems installed are effective, easy to learn and use and installed in a manner that best accommodates the client. You will provide technical process engineering leadership, project workstream leadership and mentoring. You will be required to train process engineers and associates in process engineering philosophy, methodologies and practices. You will be the business unit leadership in the development and execution of process engineering and re-engineering projects.

How You’ll Succeed


  • People Management/ Leadership - Help to create and sustain a high performing, inspired workplace which is consistent with the values of Simplii and CIBC and ensure that progressive approaches are used in the management of human resources. This includes:; align employee reward and recognition around successful delivery of project work; ensuring consistent Performance Management practices throughout the business; career and succession planning; calibration sessions within team and across process engineering boarder team. Teach process engineers and associates in all or in specific aspects of process engineering and other improvement methodologies. Provide active and aggressive leadership in problem solving efforts on key projects to improve customer satisfaction and cycle time and to reduce costs.
  • Operational Leadership - Act both collaboratively and autonomously in your day to day. Lead the development and execution of you team’s portfolio of projects. Include the appropriate team members and stakeholders as needed to proactively identify opportunities and resolve issues, and escalate as needed. Ensure all team members are clear on priorities and able to identify trade-offs or opportunities for improvement.
  • Relationships and Teamwork -Forge strong relationships with CIBC’s various teams, including business and internal partners. Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, training and developmental opportunities to ensure direct reports and indirect team members can excel in their roles. Partner and communicate with all levels of stakeholders effectively and demonstrate ability to deal with ambiguity through to resolution.
  • Strategy Development and Execution - Plan, support and provide training and coaching in Process Engineering and other improvement methodologies to executives, process owners, process engineers, associates and others. Drive process-engineering effort across the company to meet annual productivity targets while fostering a process engineering culture change. Act as a proactive strategic resource to business by identifying, planning and implementing process engineering and other improvement strategies and projects with senior leadership. Drive and track projects to successful completion. Provide management with project status updates, feedback and appropriate reporting on key, process-focused objectives. Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process / productivity improvement and administrative efficiency that will lead to cost reduction and competitive advantage.
