Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Director of Franchise Recruitment and Retail Construction to join the company's team. Reporting to the Vice President, this role will develop and drive strategies for franchise recruitment and projects with the goal to attract more franchisees and build new and refurbished bakeries across Canada. Leading a team of professionals, the Director of Franchise Recruitment and Retail Construction will interact with multiple stakeholders across the company to deliver best-in-class practices that support the company’s goal of setting a new standard in franchising.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relevant franchise strategy based on market insights and communicate research with relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and manage key marketing strategies for recruiting franchisees
  • Oversee financial management of departmental budget
  • Develop, communicate, manage, and implement Franchise growth strategy and capital cost spend on behalf of our Franchisees
  • Accelerate the growth of the business by increasing the pipeline of trained franchisees to become multi-site owners
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Oversee all aspects of the recruitment and sale of business process for internal and external Franchisee candidates.
  • Liaise with the Product and Operation Teams to identify potential opportunities for improvement in design practicality and cost savings


Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience of driving strategy for a franchise business or equivalent and successfully recruiting franchisees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel occasionally as required
  • Knowledge of Franchising and construction in retail industry is essential – exposure to the restaurant sector is an asset
  • High-level problem-solving skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • 5+ years senior management experience overseeing franchise recruitment and project management teams
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplined team of professionals across all elements of the franchise recruitment and projects areas
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage conflict and negotiate
  • Excellent presentation skills to various audience and mediums
