Director Of Construction Jobs

Hays are currently working with a hospitality company with head offices based in Calgary. They are seeking a skilled Director of Construction to oversee construction activities. Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, you will manage a team of 6+ professionals and ensure successful execution of construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost control measures.
• Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals, including project managers and site supervisors.
• Develop project plans, establish objectives, and determine resource requirements.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Manage construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and refurbishments, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
• Implement quality assurance processes and conduct inspections to ensure high standards.
• Collaborate with external vendors and contractors, maintaining strong relationships for project success.

Qualifications:

• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is a plus.
• Previous management experience in general contracting or owner-side construction.
• Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, and industry practices.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
