Job Description

General Description of the position:

  • You will lead change and implement industry best practices and processes to support the overall strategy of the group.
  • You will support projects and new business ventures as we continue our development into new markets and new product lines.
  • Supporting our operations in North America, supervise a team of analysts to measure, analyze and report on the manufacturing, warehousing, logistic and inventory management performance.
  • As a true business partner to Operations management, you will be responsible for coming up with creative and insightful dashboards and KPIs, fully understanding the nature and complexity of our business, the strategy and the key business initiatives.

Responsibilities and Mission:

  • Tracking of operational performance,
  • Support in the preparation of the management reporting to the division team and financial reporting to the shareholders
  • Support the S&OP process and build sensitivity analysis, what-if scenarios around capacity planning and cost optimization
  • Create and deploy KPIs and dashboards (daily, weekly, monthly) that will allow the plant managers to understand the activity and to measure progress against strategic priorities.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and implement cost control measure.
  • Provide insights to the operation team regarding production performance, variance analysis vs budget and prior year.
  • Assist with the integration of acquired businesses.
  • Develop an approach to plant benchmarking and optimization of lowest landed cost for all sites.
  • Deploy a consistent approach across all sites in Canada for
  • Monitoring of efficiency initiatives,
  • Focus should include capacity utilization and limitations, line speeds, labor efficiency, yields and overhead expenses, etc. Ensure integrity of master data, consistency of BOMs
  • Capex projects evaluation, post implementation payback follow up
  • Manage and develop a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to support their professional development and growth.
  • Work with our IT team to improve and expand our BI and reporting tools.
  • Standard costs/inventory valuation.
  • Work with the Technical director to evaluate capex projects, model impacts, support execution and keep track of results vs assumptions.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including the development of detailed financial models and the analysis of financial data to ensure accuracy and alignment with the company's overall strategy.

Required qualifications, aptitudes and experiences:

  • Knowledge of SALESFORCE, POWERBI and other BI tools
  • Exceptional communication skills in English
  • Experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment. Master standard costing and inventory valuation concepts
  • Excellent analytical and IT Skills (advanced Excel)
  • Strong communication and vulgarization skills
  • Six-Sigma, Lean, or other Continuous Improvement certifications will be considered a strong asset
  • Good communication skills in French
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in FP&A or related roles, including management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business Admin, Management, Finance or Accounting
  • Preferred qualifications, aptitudes and experiences:
  • CPA designation
  • Conduct Process Improvement projects as needed within the department.
