Disability Concepts Inc., a People Corporation company, is a benefits consulting firm that designs and manages innovative corporate benefit plans nationally.We are looking for a Director of Claims Management to join our amazing team.The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic with a positive and professional attitude, understand the importance of our client relationships, motivated to reach excellence, and strive to be their best self.

Our Director of Claims Management Strategies will oversee client services in relation to our Claims Service Program.This will include supporting the Claims Management Specialist in challenging escalations and delivering outstanding client service.

Experience & Skills Required to be Successful in this role:

  • Strong leadership abilities to influence and build effective working relationships
  • Strong project management skills
  • Analytical, strategic and solution focused thinking
  • Willing to proactively collaborate, share, and seek information and guidance
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • 10 years + experience working with corporate disability plans
  • LLQP License (Life and Accident & Sickness)
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships
  • Extensive Disability Management knowledge including understanding the adjudication process and contractual requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities, exceptional time management, organizational skills, and ability to set goals and objectives that are strategically reached
  • Excellent people skills in order to manage relationships with clients and benefit providers
  • Training and coaching experience


The Director, Claims Management Strategies will be responsible for the following:

  • Participate in sales meetings to help educated prospective clients on enhanced contractual features of potential benefit providers as well as advantages of the H+P Claim Service Program
  • Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Support Claims Management Specialist with escalations of client challenges with a focus on resolution and ongoing improvement of the client experience
  • Assist clients with development of they internal short- or long-term disability policy documentation
  • Lead the initiative to change the H+P Claims Services Program into a revenue generating offering to all existing clients
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism, using excellent written and oral communication skills in all interactions with clients
  • Design and provide engaging training, ongoing mentorship, and development opportunities to Claims Management Specialist
  • Assist with developing a marketing strategy based on the offering of the H+P Claim Service Program for prospective clients
  • Create claims history and trending reports to identify opportunities for wellness initiatives, claims reduction, or absenteeism management
  • Working closely with our clients to create efficiencies in the disability claims management process while providing expertise, education, and guidance to enhance our clients understanding of the products and services available to them
  • Ongoing research to identifying the most successful Claims Management strategies and understanding what services our clients are obtaining from other sources.Develop a package of offerings under the H+P Claims Service Program to provide existing clients
  • Measure Claims Management Specialist progress and determine appropriate training solutions
  • Employing strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and service providers
