The Position:

ALAViDA, A Lifespeak Company, offers a virtual, web-based solution to provide care for those looking to change their substance use. We are looking for an individual who can help support members in their journey through the virtual platform. As a coach, you will work one-on-one with members to achieve their substance use reduction or abstinence goals via text-based messaging, video calls and phone calls. You will be the first touch point, working closely with other coaches under the supervision of the Coaching Supervisor to deliver evidence-based care. We are looking for someone who is known to be reliable, empathetic, and feels comfortable working in a digital health environment. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and the Stages of Change model. You will be connecting with individuals with substance use challenges to support them in accessing the content of our web-based platform.

This is a part-time contract role ranging from 10-20 hours per week to start. This is a virtual role so you can work from anywhere.

This is non-clinical position, and the ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and feels comfortable communicating compassionately and concisely through virtual platforms. Requirements

Within the first 30 days, the Coach will be expected to

• Become proficient in the use of our tools and systems
• Become familiar with the team and establish a routine and schedule of availability
• Learn the structure and operation of the company and ALAViDA programming

The Responsibilities:

• Provide member engagement sessions via video and telephone
• Direct the member to applicable strategies in the virtual platform to support progress
• Develop and edit content for the ALAViDA platform
• Coordinate with team members to support member satisfaction and engagement
• Provide motivational support and encouragement
• Provide text-based support and guided psychoeducation in substance use care
• Problem solve when a member is not engaging with the virtual platform
• Deliver online groups for members covering different themes and topics relating to substance use

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the digital health industry is an asset
• Passion and experience in mental health or substance use
• Bilingual is an asset (English/French)
• Communication-related tasks
• Background in the addiction/substance use field an asset
• This position is not available to individuals who are registered with a licensing or regulatory body (e.g., RSW, RCC) because service is required cross-jurisdictionally
• Candidates should have a completed post-secondary undergraduate education in human service-related disciplines such as social work, psychology, education, or equivalent; or a certificate program in addiction care
• Building collaborative relationships
• Coaching or teaching experience is an asset
• Knowledge of CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and the Stages of Change Model an asset
• Delivering virtual health services is an asset
