Our Information Technology group has an opportunity based out of one of the following locations: Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

The Role

TheSenior DevOps Specialist – is a core member of the client project team and plays a critical role in the software development life cycle. The DevOps Specialist will collaborate with Project Engineers to design and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that support software build, testing, and delivery automation. The DevOps Specialist will also work closely with Cyber Security and SecOps to ensure that CI / CD pipelines integrate with code quality and code security static analysis tools as well as open source software vulnerability scanners. The DevOps Specialist will collaborate with the Software Quality Specialist to integrate test automation into the CI / CD pipeline. As a member of the DevOps practices the DevOps Specialist will be expected to contribute to the continuous learning and continuous improvement process to ensure that DevOps processes, practices, and tools evolve and improve to adapt to changing technological and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to manage and conceptualize, develop, test, and release software.
• Manage and Support IT by contributing to the design and implementation of deployment and monitoring tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with and Manage IT and Cloud Architecture to implement Infrastructure as Code to enable the automation of infrastructure automation.
• As part of the DevOps practice contributes to continuous improvements in DevOps implementation to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with project teams to manage the design and implement CI / CD pipelines.
• Support Software Quality Engineering to enable automated testing of software.
• Support Software Quality Engineering to integrate automated testing with CI / C pipelines.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security to implement software security policies to prevent security breaches and other vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
• 7+ years of software development or systems administration, Desk Top Support experience
• Expertise in Technology Management and Team Management.
• Experience in Collaborating and Managing Teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar relevant degree or combination of education and experience
• Understanding of lean/agile development principles
• Proficient in English.
• Docker, Ansible, Terraform, and Helm in cloud environments
• Source control tools such as GitLab
• Scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Powershell
• CI / CD tools such as Jenkins, Travis-CI

Desirable

• Proficiency in C++, Java, C#
• Experience with monitoring stacks like ELK, Grafana/ Prometheus, or DynaTrace
• Cloud Platform certification like Aws, Azure Etc,
