Design Architect– Avionic

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com ) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in the Aerospace and Defense industry. We are currently seeking a qualified Solution Engineer with expertise in avionic box design and development to join our aerospace team in Mississauga Ontario. As a Solution Engineer, you will play a crucial role in working with various stakeholders to price avionic boxes, develop proposals, and support the bid/RFP process. Your knowledge of avionics systems, project engineering, and management will be instrumental in ensuring successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and customer requirements related to avionic systems and box development.
• Act as a liaison between different teams, including Engineering, Sales, and Project Management, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Collaborate with the Business Development, Proposal Manager and Engineering team to evaluate custom-designed avionics LRU and other safety/mission critical ruggedized electronics requirements and assist in pricing out solutions that align with customer needs and project objectives.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Solution Engineering team during the pricing, proposal, and bidding processes, particularly regarding system-level considerations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, and testing teams, to develop integrated avionic system solutions.
• Work closely with the Proposal team to develop comprehensive and competitive proposals in response to bids and RFPs.
• Understands system verification and validation activities, including testing, simulation, and documentation, to ensure the integrity and functionality of avionic systems.
• Has the ability to provide and gauge estimates
• Utilize your expertise in avionics box design and development to provide technical guidance and support during the proposal and pricing process.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify mitigation strategies related to avionic system design and development.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-160, DO-254, DO-178, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, ARP4754/4761 considering all relevant requirements and regulations.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with industry standards such as DO-160 (Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment) and DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware).
• Proven experience and expertise in avionic box design and development, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify technical and business solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of pricing strategies and experience working on pricing proposals is desirable.
• Strong project engineering and/or project management experience, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
