We are currently seeking to hire Coat Room Clerks at our brand new meat processing facility in Hamilton, ON! Seeking both experienced and entry level candidates!

Who We Are:

Sierra Supply Chain Services provides protein (poultry, beef, pork) solutions to the food processing and distribution sector. We simplify supply chain services and provide expanding value to the protein sector across our three locations in Brampton, Hamilton, and Mississauga.

We are excited to announce the expansion of a newest Processing facility in Hamilton that is: 25,000 square foot that allows for 200,000 kg of weekly multi protein grinding and daily custom boxing and blast freezing!

What You will Be Doing/Position Details:

The plant coat room clerk performs various duties at the plant as per assigned areas including greeting guests and employees, cleaning, monitoring employees, control flow of staff during breaks and lunches.

Accountabilities and Detailed Activity:

Coat Room

• Ensure everyone entering the plant is not wearing jewelry and following all GMP’s
• Monitor staff entering the plant, ensure they are planned for in the production schedule as well as entering them into the manual log and punched in and out correctly.
• Clean and sanitize areas outside in the lunch and shared spaces (bathrooms and changerooms) every 2 hours as well as check supplies (enough paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer etc.)
• Go into the plant to ensure the daily labour is working on the line they were supposed to, employees are assigned to the right work orders as well as monitor the break times of employees
• Ensure hair nets and other PPE is discarded upon leaving the production area
• Ensure all RF Scanners are accounted for, and all batteries are put to charge
• Set up all new employees on the punch clock
• Greet staff and visitors entering the building in a professional and attentive manner.
• Ensure all dirty coats, gloves and mats are put for wash and replaced with clean ones.
• Account for inventory – Ensure enough stock for sanitizer, coats, masks, hairnets, gloves, aprons and all PPE required for staff, restock coat room inventory
• Ensure all employees are maintaining social distancing with the plant, lunchroom and outside lunch area.
• Oversee first aid kit supplies and provide first aid to employees that hurt themselves and communicate injuries with supervisors to ensure proper documentation is completed

Quality Service:

• Follow food safety guidelines and ensure that the environment meets high quality standard of cleanliness
• Ensure washrooms, lunchroom and coat room is kept clean and sanitized.

Attendance

• Maintain an excellent attendance record, ensuring that you arrive for shifts on time and prepared to work
• Demonstrate flexibility as production needs change

• Demonstrate an interest an apt for learning new skills in relation to growth opportunities with Sierra
• Ask to learn about new skills related to production, leadership for continual improvement
• Self-Assess if you require additional training on procedures

Minimum Requirements:

• Good Communication skill, basic computer knowledge
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Food Production environment, Meat Process experience will be an asset
• Ability to multitask, Team work, and work in fast paced environment
• High School Diploma
