CMMS Specialist/Supervisor

We take pride in being North America’s leader of full-service solutions in the freight, passenger and commuter rail industries in Canada, the United States and offshore. Cad Rail has other facilities in Calgary, Lethbridge (under Caltrax banner) and has recently been selected by the ONxpress Transportation Partners association to provide all legacy fleet maintenance services for the Metrolinx rail fleet of approximately 1000 bi-level coaches and 90 locomotives. Cad rail’s delivery team will operate and maintain Metrolinx’s rail maintenance facilities in Etobicoke and Whitby, as well as in multiple overnight along with mid-day light servicing facilities located across the Metrolinx train service area.




Summary of the role:


The CMMS Specialist/Clerk Supervisor will be responsible for providing support in the development, implementation, and quality control oversight of business processes for Metrolinx’s Legacy Fleet Maintenance operations.



This individual will collaborate with the management team, customers, suppliers, partners and involved stakeholders.



Reporting to the Quality Assurance/Quality Control/Customer Experience Manager will be responsible for ensuring the proper management of documentation for the project using the Computerized Maintenance Management System.



Core Accountabilities:


  • Comply with the company’s applicable policies and procedures as well as human resources guidelines
  • Remain current with changes in CMMS software
  • Develops, implements, and provides quality control oversight of business processes that ensure that all phases of work performed are recorded in CMMS
  • Confirm that all HSE policies, processes and procedures are being complied
  • Work with the team to prepare and create recurrent reports that are requested by operations or higher
  • Ability to develop KPIs and present data
  • Serve as the expert for executing CMMS work processes
  • Distribution of preventative maintenance schedule. Amend and track all required changes
  • Conduct training and information sessions on the CMMS program
  • Prepare senior management relating any potential complications
  • Ensures team processes and enters all data that is maintained in CMMS
  • Able to audit data in the CMMS to verify that business processes are producing data of sufficient quality
  • Process maintenance work orders and track to ensure timely completion. Ensure completed work orders are closed out in the system
  • Able to generate reports – customized, standard and ad-hoc, as required by the business
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of data collected and entered into the CMMS. Assess data integrity and completeness of information recorded in CMMS
  • Manage and supervise a team of Data Clerks. Coach and mentor staff and provide daily direction


Qualifications:


  • Background of accomplishing business strategies
  • 5 to 10 years experience working in an environment with CMMS and/or a related field. Rail locomotive and passenger coach experience and knowledge is an asset
  • Diploma or degree relating to the field of expertise or a combination of related work experience
  • Experience managing and supervising a team
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with the team and unionized maintenance personnel


Nice to have:


  • Experience working in the rail industry with a comprehensive knowledge of rail equipment
  • Experience working in an unionized environment
  • Familiarity with other industries such as Aerospace
