Cerner Application/Configuration Analyst (3843)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a part-time Cerner Application/Configuration Analyst to help our client supplement the design & configure phase for a new Cerner Millennium project. This position utilizes both clinical knowledge and strong technical computer skills to support the development/modification, successful implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance of the designated clinical Cerner Module(s) of their Design Team.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts application analysis, including (as required) system performance, capacity plans, system interfaces, data conversion routines, acceptance criteria, gap analysis, risks, opportunities
• Leads and/or conducts exercises to gather detailed business requirements
• Documents changes in user processes, assists with business process redesign
• Provides input into development of policies and procedures
• Leads and/or participates in feasibility studies
• Configures and builds using the Cerner build tools
• Troubleshoots system issues
• System testing and script writing
• Validates specification documentation
• Provides go-live support
• User training / education to provide support
• Develops recommendations related to new applications and processes
• Liaises with security/privacy coordinators to ensure compliance
• Training material development
• Develops detailed work plans for application release and implementation schedules
• Develops detailed application specifications

Requirements:

• Oracle Cerner training is an asset
• Proficient and knowledgeable at building and maintaining Cerner Millennium suite of applications, especially PowerChart, MPages, Dynamic Documentation, PowerOrders, and other physician functionality
• Experience implementing Cerner Millennium in a complex acute environment is preferred
• Experience troubleshooting issues in Cerner, including a high level understanding of the Oracle Cerner data model and architecture
• Canadian Healthcare experience / knowledge is preferred
• Clinical background is preferred
• Strong understanding of the JIRA application and processes
• Experience in workflow analysis and future state design; previous project life cycle experience preferred
• Experience working through Oracle Cerner project implementations
• Experience working in the CST environment and build elements is preferred
