Role Overview:
As a Cash Receipt Administrator in our Accounting Department at our Toronto office, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and providing essential support to our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensure compliance with policy and procedures for write-offs
- Participate in testing new software or upgrades to the accounting system
- Generate ad-hoc reports and prepare monthly Cash Management Reports for all accounts
- Liaise with the bank to resolve unallocated payments
- Assist with year-end audit requests
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Accounts Receivable
- Secure post-dated cheques (vault) and apply them on a timely basis
- Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external clients
- Investigate and process refunds for wire payments and transfers to trust or between accounts
- Prepare, process, and apply payments received to client accounts
- Build and maintain professional relationships with lawyers and legal assistants
- Resolve payment discrepancies with internal and external clients
The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:
- Up to 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience in a corporate environment, law firm or professional services environment experience is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Strong client service skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Demonstrates good judgment and a high degree of professionalism
- Detail-oriented and resourceful with strong organizational and analytical ability
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently
- Working knowledge of Elite, 3E or other professional accounting software is an asset
