What you’ll be doing

CIBC’s Commercial Banking Cash Management team helps businesses reach their full potential by delivering flexible cash management solutions, dedicated business expertise and timely advice to help our clients realize their goals. As an Associate, Cash Management, you’ll join CIBC’s Commercial Banking team to provide support to account teams through client acquisition, relationship management as well as providing transactional support for client specific financing solutions. This is a development role for the Commercial Banking team, providing an opportunity to learn the products, processes, networks and functions to enable and equip you to eventually progress to the Manager role. You’ll act as a key interface to internal partners in order to facilitate initial product installation and ongoing troubleshooting and you will apply product and client knowledge in the development of proposals, ideas and solutions to proactively meet clients’ needs. Your primary role is to support the managers in business development and maintenance of existing customer relationships.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You'll Succeed

  • Teamwork - Work with your team and other internal partners to connect clients with opportunities. Provide guidance on treasury best practices and cash management solutions to meet your client’s needs.
  • Business development - Support mangers in developing new client relationships through business development activities by leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence. Identify potential sales and/or service improvement opportunities.
  • Relationship building – Make an impact in your community and show clients they’re appreciated by engaging in marketing and outreach activities. Provide continued partnership and support to your clients through understanding their goals and objectives.
  • Deliver Solutions - Proactively assess your clients’ cash management needs, conduct financial statement reviews and assist managers in proposing solutions to meet those needs. Assess assigned accounts in the pre/post sales cycle, and provide relevant data to the sales team to support account reviews and assist in pricing negotiations. Conduct industry and client research to contribute to the development of cash management proposals, presentations and pricing strategies.

Who You Are

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Commerce or Business Administration with knowledge of cash management products and service offerings.
  • You’re goal oriented. You’re motivated by accomplishing your goals and delivering your best to make a difference.
  • You embrace and advocate for change. You continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work in order to deliver your best.
  • You're passionate about people. You find meaning in relationships and surround yourself with a diverse network of partners. You connect with others through respect and authenticity.
  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
  • You can demonstrate experience in Excel and Powerpoint, with the ability to evaluate financial information. You have well-developed organizational skills to respond to continually evolving priorities and an aptitude for business development (sales) skills.

What CIBC Offers

At CIBC, your goals are a priority. We start with your strengths and ambitions as an employee and strive to create opportunities to tap into your potential. We aspire to give you a career, rather than just a paycheck.

  • Our spaces and technological toolkit will make it simple to bring together great minds to create innovative solutions that make a difference for our clients
  • We work to recognize you in meaningful, personalized ways including a competitive salary, incentive pay, banking benefits, a health benefits program, defined benefit pension plan, an employee share purchase plan and MomentMakers, our social, points-based recognition program
  • We cultivate a culture where you can express your ambition through initiatives like Purpose Day; a paid day off dedicated for you to use to invest in your growth and development

What You Need To Know
