WHAT WILL YOU DO?

This position provides all the financial, administrative, and transactional support required for an evolving Finance team, which includes, maintenance of accurate records and files, processing of payments, and contacting clients for collecting balances.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and posting incoming customer cheques, preparing daily cash reports, posting credit memos, assisting with client dispute resolution and ,processing adjustments
  • Organizing the customer-issued cheques to facilitate timely deposits and posting to customer accounts using the Company's ERP system
  • Evaluating client balance movements and credit histories and presenting to the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance
  • Initiating and screening customer credit applications, including review of new customer accounts for GL account, credit term, and tax code accuracy
  • Verifying and preparing invoices, and bank deposits and performing reconciliation of AR accounts while maintaining various AR files
  • Ad hoc projects pertinent to accounts receivable
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by accurately posting account transactions
  • Following up with clients to collect account balances via phone and/or email, to ensure customers are compliant with payment terms and/or commitments
  • Sending out accurate and timely monthly statements of account to customers


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED?

We know that you will have a wide range of skills and experience, but we think the most important to thrive in this role are:


  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Suite knowledge
  • Passion for Finance
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an AR/AP-focused role
  • A background and education in Finance, Economics, or Business
  • Great attention to detail
  • OK with working onsite from our Toronto office (25 York Street)
