Business Analyst for CMBC EAM Detailed Design (5 Month Contract)
Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid
Staffing Placement Opportunity
Services:
Reporting to the Functional Project Manager within the company Business and Technology Services (BTS) Division and working closely with the Business Leads, the Senior Business Analyst will provide the following services to an appropriate level of detail as determined by the Project Manager (in consultation with the Business Analyst and other stakeholders) but not limited to the following:
1. Define the business problem, opportunities, risks, and primary objectives related to the project
2. Attend and actively participate in workshops in one or more streams (Supply Chain Management, Work Management, Asset Management, Technical)
3. Lead discussions with stakeholders from various business groups to identify and analyze requirements using techniques such as in-person and virtual interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, etc.
4. Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into requirements, use cases, process maps, test cases, technical specifications, user stories as appropriate
5. Work with the System Integrator, vendors, contractors, and business stakeholders to design and document future to-be business processes, prioritize requirements, resolve conflicts around functionality, features, and specifications
6. Support the business in ensuring that business requirements are met and captured effectively, coaching the business through options and decisions
7. Support BTS in an ongoing relationship with the business
8. Document detailed business requirements and high-level system design using standard project methodology of the company, and coordinate requirement walk-throughs and signoffs with business stakeholders
9. Perform fit-gap analysis against industry leading practices and system functions, as required
10. Ensure the traceability matrix between requirements and user stories are consistent
11. Provide support to Stream Leads and key business stakeholders to make decisions
12. Prepare and present decision documentation to key stakeholders for decision-making
13. Validate and assist with data migration and conversion activities, as required, to ensure requirements for the solution are met
14. Provide support to technical teams for configuration requirements and acceptance criteria
15. Support the development of a Test Strategy and Plan
16. Assist with the Design Questions and the resolution of cross functional topics and dependencies, and work with the Business Solution Architects
17. Evaluate every potential viable solution and the associated technology to ensure alignment with business requirements
18. Support the development of the Business Case and other benefit justification artifacts as needed by the Capital Management group
19. Support the development of a standard process architecture framework for the ERP program
20. Support the Organizational Change Management activities
21. Develop and deliver communications to managers, directors, and other stakeholders of different groups
22. Coordinate and track communication between Stream Leads and SMEs, so that SME feedback is incorporated into solution design
23. Act like a gatekeeper of activities, lean thinker who knows how to maximize the value from the stakeholder interactions and meetings and assist various stakeholders to get to relevant decisions effectively and efficiently
24. Maintain close alignment with scope to highlight scope variances across all streams
Deliverables:
Standard business analysis deliverables and activities will be expected although they may be modified to suit the scope and scale of the project. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

5. Assumptions, Constraints, Impacts, Decisions

8. Decision Analysis and Supporting Documents
9. Process definition documents
10. Process impact assessment reports
11. Business decision documents
12. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
13. User documentation and Job Aids
14. Security and Access level guidelines and artifacts
15. Project Communications and Presentations
Knowledge & Experience:
1. Capable of supporting the cradle-to-grave business solution design on complex business transformation initiatives
2. Ability to apply structured problem-solving and decision-making techniques and facilitate discussions with different stakeholders including managers, directors, and executives
3. Experienced with developing and delivering project communications to senior stakeholders
4. Experience with elicitation techniques, requirements gathering, and other Business Analysis tools and methods
5. Advanced knowledge of Excel is desirable
6. Hands-on knowledge of business process design methodology & modeling tools such as MS Visio, IBM Blueworks Live, or Signavio
7. Familiar with data maintenance practices, reporting tools or analytics in enterprise settings
8. Experience working from start to finish on large complex application design & implementation projects would be an asset
9. Knowledge of fleet maintenance processes and industry standard practices is highly desirable
10. Knowledge and experience in Hexagon Enterprise Asset Management, IBM Maximo, or similar Asset Management application is preferable
11. Knowledge and experience in with implementing ERP Maintenance and/or supply chain systems such as Infor, SAP, Oracle E-Business, and Infor CloudSuite Financials is preferable
12. Previous experience with developing the business case or benefit realization models would be an asset
13. Solid understanding and applied knowledge of Waterfall and Agile projects
14. Excellent oral and written communication skills
