The Role


Gilead Canada is seeking a Business Analyst – Commercial Operations to join our dynamic and innovative Commercial Operations team, based out of the Mississauga Office. Reporting into the Associate Director, Commercial Excellence, you will support elements and make key contributions to Sales Force Effectiveness, Sales Enablement and Marketing Operations for multiple Business Units


You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and IT, to improve and enhance our strong operational infrastructure to drive commercial effectiveness and support a growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong subject matter expertise, work as a collaborative strategic partner, with creative problem-solving approach, implementing best practice, and improving our ability to support our customers in providing optimum patient care.


How You Will ‘Create Possible’
  • Design, maintain and manage Sales and KPI reporting dashboards (Tableau) and data flow (Alteryx) which deliver analytics and insights on an ongoing basis.
  • Upload and management of promotional tools (e-detail aids), key promotional messages and objections within CRM (Veeva)
  • Ad hoc trouble shooting across all Veeva platforms,
  • Support the Canadian Salesforce CRM system, working closely with Global and local teams. Includes supporting customer targeting initiatives and consulting with internal stakeholder to determine business requirements, collaborating with cross functional teams to develop new tools / processes that enhance Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE).
  • Ongoing management of Veeva CRM, Promo Mats, Vault Admin Accountabilities to ensure business continuity including, but not limited to:
  • Supporting technical systems and processes, data management and implementation to support our Canadian commercial business.
  • Ongoing ad hoc requests relating to issues including but not limited to: duplicate management, address management, change requests, reporting, event management
  • Veeva Vault and PromoMat Admin and Maintenance
  • Veeva roster management
  • Management of priority customer databases across all commercial field teams
  • Works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Medical, and other key internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with IT and the business to deliver modern sales and marketing materials (websites, approved email, digital sales aids, etc).
  • Creation and management of customer databases to support non-personal promotion as part of our Omnichannel strategy
  • Work closely with the CRM (Veeva) and Incentive Plan Lead to support end to end processes such as logging tickets, bulk data loading, consolidation of multiple data sets and cross-checking calculations to ensure accuracy in terms of data


Knowledge, Experience & Skills


  • Strong familiarity with the use or administration of a CRM system such as Salesforce/Veeva
  • Experience implementing new capabilities or systems into a commercial organization
  • Strategic data and analytical skills, including expert level in Excel, with the ability to digest and interpret multiple complex data sources and draw insights to utilize for Sales Force efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Track record of influencing key stakeholders across the organization, including strong presentation and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Business or other technical discipline.
  • Organized and demonstrates a commitment to accuracy in managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Experience with Data Transformation (Alteryx) and BI Tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik would be an asset
  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience with a track record of success in Commercial Operations, Analytics, Sales or Marketing is an asset
  • Experience in managing cross functional projects and processes, including large cross-functional initiatives with a strategic approach.
