Business Advisor
In this advisory role, you are responsible for for acquiring, maintaining and growing valued relationships with our Business clients for our Sea-to-Sky branches. As a Business Advisor, you embrace and promote financial wellness for our clients across all deposit, credit, insurance and investment product/service lines. In addition to exploring and acting upon both short and long term needs, your partnership with specialists in credit, investment and insurance helps ensure expertise is available in response to or anticipation of client needs.

Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Approves commercial loans and mortgages within established limits or recommends for approval beyond established limits.
- Determines current and future business needs of business clients to achieve short-term and long-term business goals, and identify challenges and opportunities
- Regularly visits assigned branches and participates in branch sales meetings to support the goals and objectives of the business unit.
- Assists the Branch Manager in overseeing business sales and service activities to ensure current and potential business clients receive the best sales and service possible. Shares expertise and mentors Retail branch staff to identify business service opportunities.
- Proactively manage the relationship with an assigned portfolio of affluent business clients and provides appropriate solutions and advice to help them create/maintain business financial wellness.
- Promotes, negotiates and closes the sale for a full range of deposit, credit, insurance, and investment products.
- Uses knowledge, creativity and flexibility in analyzing and structuring credit.
- Establishes effective partnerships with Retail branches, BlueShore Wealth, Real Estate Lending Group and Leasing to enable a high volume of cross referrals.
- Proactively develops new business opportunities through memberships with various business organizations and by engaging in networking events in the target market area.
- Manages all aspects of the assigned business credit portfolio including; underwriting, monitoring, compliance and proactive client servicing.
- Keeps informed of competitive situations, industry trends, activities in trade area and general market information of interest to clients in order to continue to proactively meet clients’ needs and identify risks
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, major in Accounting/Finance preferred.
- 7-10 years in the financial services industry
- 5-7 years in small business or commercial portfolio management
- Demonstrated application of business/statute law and practices
- Solid understanding of financial accounting and statement analysis, environmental assessments, appraisals, credit bureaus, AR/AP and inventory listings and other documents related to credit underwriting
- Certificate in Small Business Advisory, Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), or Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation an asset.
Pay Transparency
Pay transparency is an important characteristic of our recruitment process and overall BlueShore culture which supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.
The target range of this role is $95,000 - $120,000/year, plus competitive variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
