Located in the heart of Eastern Canada’s major city, a luxury boutique hotel is seeking a General Manager who will lead the operation of this remarkable property. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations, including pre-opening, sales, financial management, human resources, and compliance with brand standards. You will provide leadership, mentorship, and operational support to the hotel staff, ensuring a safe working environment and exceptional guest experiences. Collaborating with the ownership group, corporate team, and stakeholders, you will drive revenue growth, control costs, and maintain the hotel's reputation.


This position requires strong leadership skills at a Forbes award winning hotel, financial acumen, and a passion for delivering the finest service and guest care.


Responsibilities:


The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all hotel operations, providing leadership, mentorship, and operational support to the staff, and ensuring seamless guest experiences. The owners preference is a balanced experienced trendy GM with superior knowledge of the rooms and sales They will prioritize a safe working environment and maintain operational efficiency. In terms of sales and financial management, the General Manager will develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets, participate in budgeting and financial statement preparation, and monitor financial performance while implementing cost control measures. Additionally, the General Manager will handle human resources matters, including recruitment, training, and performance management, with a focus on promoting employee engagement, satisfaction, and professional development. They will also ensure compliance with legislative requirements, brand standards, and operational policies while maintaining strong relationships with the hotel franchisor and upholding brand standards. Collaborating with the ownership group, corporate team, and stakeholders, the General Manager will foster positive relationships with community partners and clients while providing regular updates on hotel activities and challenges.


Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field.

• Minimum of ten years of progressive hospitality leadership experience within a luxury or upper upscale (Forbes level) hotel.

• Proven track record of delivering exceptional service and achieving financial targets.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate teams.

• Solid financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Passion for the hospitality industry and dedication to guest care.
