Accounting Clerk/ Bookkeeper– Mountain Creek Farms, Calgary
With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

NOTE: This role will be located at Mountain Creek Farms in Calgary, Alberta.
Qualifications

• Diploma in accounting/bookkeeping or equivalent experience and understanding of accounting concepts/reporting;
• Knowledge in SAP, AS400, FMS and/or detailed inventory systems a plus;
• Logistics/shipping experience in an office environment considered an asset;
• Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise and problem-solving;
• Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills;
• Strong knowledge in MS Office is required;
• Self-directed, has initiative and a strong multi-tasking ability;
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail;

Responsibilities

• Continually pursue ways to improve and automate processes, identify issues and recommend actions to improve value;
• Process vendor payments accurately and timely.
• Process orders and preparation of shipping documentation; working closely with production, shipping department and carriers.
• Assist with special projects and/or provide reports as needed by operations team;
• Reconcile accounts and create journal entries as necessary;
• Work with a high sense of urgency and the ability to swiftly and accurately respond to ad-hoc requests, while prioritizing to meet deadlines;
• Document job functions and tasks in a comprehensive, detailed manner;
