Hiring for Bench Jeweller / Production Assistant

Kara Yoo is a sustainable demi-fine and fine jewellery brand. We design and produce pieces in our studio in Vancouver to sell on our website and wholesale to stores worldwide. We are a team of five that consists of the designer/owner, studio manager, studio assistant and production assistants. We are looking for a like-minded individual - relaxed but competent, motivated, skilled and enthusiastic - with experience in jewellery production to complement our team, starting immediately.

Hours: Full time (30-40 hours per week). Business hours: 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri.

Location: On-site in our studio near Cambie St and 2nd Ave in Vancouver

Salary: Competitive salary, depends on experience.~ $20-30.

Language: Must be fluent in English, written and spoken.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in production work (making several of the same piece) is a must - at least 1 year
• Jewellery diploma or certification

Tasks include:

• Stone-setting (if qualified)
• Forming (hammering jewellery into shape from wire) and soldering
• 3D design (if qualified)
• Laser welding (if qualified)
• Prototyping
• Finishing and polishing raw castings
• Stringing, drilling and gluing pearls

• Proficient with computers / technology
• Able to follow directions and receive feedback
• A self-starter and able to learn quickly
• Able to communicate effectively
• Able to work quickly and efficiently
