Metterra & Varscona Hotels on Whyte are looking for an exciting & enthusiastic part-time addition to our food and beverage team!
The Hospitality/Banquet Server greets and serves hotel guests and assists in the setup of Banquet Room and serve food and/or beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner according to Crescent high standards of quality. The Hospitality/Banquet Server must represent the hotel through excellence in service and hospitality and is required to maintain a flexible schedule and be available to work shift work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Essential Job Functions
Minimum 1 year previous banquet experience preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation.
Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and serviceware.
Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
Must be completely familiar with the role during hotel emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, the use of Incident Reports and Logbooks.
Fluent in English (written and oral).
Must be able to work varied shift work, including weekends and holidays.

- Operate the electronic cash register/P.O.S. system (where applicable).
- Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, serviceware and glassware.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the unique food and beverage products.
- Check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
- Prepare food using Rationale Oven.
- Take and serve guest orders promptly and according to service manual.
- Do all necessary set-up sidework as assigned.
- Answer any guest questions about the menu.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- Assist guests with their food and beverage needs while in the Hospitality Suite and function spaces.
- Provide information to guests about hotel and non-hotel attractions, facilities, services, and activities.
