Automation Development Lead


Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our staffing practice has an opening for a Automation Development Lead to place at our client, within Enterprise Automotive Services.


Client: Enterprise Telecom Services

Location: GTA hybrid – in person as needed. Possibly once a week.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: 12 months contract


: Automation Development Lead

We are seeking a qualified Automation Development Lead to join our team and spearhead the automation of workflow development and API adapter integration. As the Automation Development Lead, you will be responsible for supporting automation initiatives, including test automation, while leveraging your coding skills and 5G background.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to implement CI/CD/CT practices and version control.
  • Have advanced proficiency in Kubernetes, Java (version 11+), Spring Boot, JSON processing, and Apache Nifi.
  • Lead the automation workflow development and API adapter integration efforts.
  • Administer databases such as MariaDB and Cassandra at a basic level.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive end-to-end automation and test automation projects, with a particular focus on network slicing.
  • Build and manage workflows using Camunda (an open-source BPMN platform).
  • Conduct manual testing and ensure the quality of automation workflows.
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka is desired.
  • Work in a Linux environment and possess knowledge of Linux security, networking, and shell scripting.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Java testing with JUnit and Java Expression Language (JEXL).

Requirements:

  • Strong coding skills, particularly in Java.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins and orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes and API adapter development.
  • Hands-on experience in software development or software engineering.
  • Proven experience in workflow management and automation development.
  • Strong listening and communication skills to understand the environment and collaborate effectively with cross-domain teams.
