The position

The Assistant Product Manager supports the broader merchandising team in its mission to deliver a best-in-class assortment of natural personal care products to Rocky customers. Reporting directly to the Product Manager, the Assistant Product Manager is actively involved in bringing new products to market, while simultaneously managing the existing product assortment. This highly cross-functional role requires close partnership with the product development, marketing, retail, digital and operations teams.

This is a hybrid position working 50% remote and 50% from our Workshop in Canmore, Alberta.

What you'll be doing

Merchandising Calendar & Milestones

• Collect feedback to continually improve the merchandising calendar and associated deliverables
• Assist with key deliverables and milestone meetings for each turnover period

Project Management

• Maintain internal calendars and workback schedules for all product initiatives
• Communicate deadlines to all cross-functional partners and keep teams updated on changes
• Identify risks to timelines and partner with the team to identify solutions

Prototype & Sample Management

• Manage and collect product sample requests from different departments
• Track and communicate feedback on product prototypes to appropriate stakeholders
• Maintain prototype and sample libraries the team can use for future product development

Category Analysis

• Synthesize data and draw conclusions based on trends
• Review weekly product performance across all sales channels (Retail, E-Commerce, Strategic Partnerships)

Internal Communications & Training

• Partner with various stakeholders to improve existing product knowledge processes
• Create 'sell sheets' for product launches that serve as product knowledge for cross-functional teams
• Manage product related requests and questions from different departments

Product Development & Innovation

• Stay informed on industry trends and contribute ideas for new products, scents, packaging, etc.
• Monitor competitive landscape and identify opportunities

Does this sound like you?

• Previous retail experience is an asset
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Be proactive and enthusiastic in approaching challenges with a solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to employ critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to approach any/all issues
• Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Passion for natural personal care & beauty products
