Assistant Managers - Cafes & Bars

Company of Cooks operates a range of restaurants, cafes, bars and events at many prestigious locations in and around London, includng the Royal Opera House, Royal Academy and the Southbank Centre.

We are excited to be recruiting for Assistant Cafe and Bar Manager positions in our team at London’s iconic Southbank Centre – Europe’s largest arts complex. Home to hundreds of performances, events and exhibitions each year, and incorporating some of London’s best known seasonal outdoor bars, we manage a total of 14 different retail outlets on site, from speciality coffee shops to rooftop cocktail bars and late night live music venues. With an exciting and packed concert and events season on the way in September we are hiring several assistant managers to reinforce our retail team, ensuring that we can deliver high quality, high volume service at all times in the months ahead.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates must:

• Be able to communicate with confidence, with a good standard of English
• Enjoy coaching and developing those around you to continuously learn and improve
• Be able to adapt to quickly changing situations and anticipate the needs of the business
• Have a great eye for detail, standards and presentation
• Be reliable, genuine team players and enjoy working in and leading a diverse team
• Have previous experience as a supervisor or assistant manager of a high volume café, coffee shop or bar business
• Be friendly, engaging and with great customer service skills
• Be able to consistently ensure the highest standards of food hygiene, health & safety, fire safety and licensing compliance are maintained at all times
• Have a good understanding of labour and stock management
