Job Description

SAP UI5/Fiori Developer (6 Month Contract)

Location: Burnaby, BC / Remote

Staffing Placement Opportunity


ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will help with production issue resolution and minor enhancements of exiting UI5/Fiori apps; deployment of additional out of the box Fiori apps and development of new custom apps as the requirements arise. The incumbent will work closely wit internal IT staff (including project managers, QA, web and UI/UX developers) and key stakeholders from business units.


Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field or equivalent experience. 3+ years experience in developing transactional SAP UI5/Fiori applications. Experience in developing frontend web and/or mobile applications independently of SAP stack would be icing on the cake

Must Have Technical Skills

  • Experience with deployment, configuration and minor updates of standard Fiori apps. Knowledge of Fiori apps library.
  • Strong background in frontend web development - HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, MVC framework and XML. Experience in troubleshooting/debugging web applications
  • Front end Fiori/UI5 development: Experience with design and development of complex UI's with SAPUI5 leveraging Fiori design guidelines; UI5 development using SAP Web IDE and Eclipse; OData service consumption and Git

Good to Have Technical Skills

  • Experience with Fiori Launchpad designer. Create/update custom catalogues, groups and roles. Experience integrating Fiori Launchpad with SAP Portal

Nice to Have Technical Skills

  • Experience with UI Theme designer
  • Knowledge of and ABAP development experience in ECC modules like FI, CO, HR, Payroll, MM, PS, PM etc.
  • Gateway administration, activation of OData services and OData modelling
  • SAP BTP and Cloud Connector configuration
  • Knowledge of and experience with object oriented ABAP, create OData services, ABAP RESTful programming (RAP) model, ABAP Core Data Services (CDS) view


Interpersonal and Communication Skills

  • Ability to solve complex and ambiguous technical problems using experience, creativity, and sound judgment
  • Good taste in visual design is important
  • Proven track record of delivering assignments within agreed upon timeframes
  • Strong written communication, documentation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Demonstrated understanding of agile and waterfall implementation methodologies

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

  • Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to company staff on system set up, configuration and support requirements.
  • Provide formal documentation, in accordance with the PMO methodologies and documentation standards.
  • Produce weekly status reports, broken down into daily number of hours worked and by tasks, using the time tracking system.
  • Provide weekly updates on deliverables and impact of proposed changes to timelines.
  • Communicate assignment status in a timely and clear fashion to the appropriate member of the Senior Management of the IT Department and other management, staff and other contractors or consultants involved in related IT assignments, as appropriate to the specific assignment.
